The Jomoro Constituency chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Gideon Konibah has been asked to step aside for misappropriating funds meant for the party.
According to sources the funds were mobilized from members of the party both within the constituency as well as from party sympathizers in neighbouring Cote D’Ivoire.
The Functional Executive Council (FEC) of the party after deliberations on the matter arrived at the conclusion that Gideon Konibah’s conduct is unacceptable and is in breach of article 46 8(b) and (c) of the party’s constitution.
A letter signed by General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has suspended the Chairman from the party pending commencement of disciplinary proceedings by the National Disciplinary Committee.
FEC has accordingly referred the matter to the National Disciplinary Committee for action.
