Gospel musician Cwesi Oteng born Cyrus Kwesi Nhyira Oteng finally breaks silence on his departure from his record label BBNZ Live in 2016.
According to the ‘ God dey bless me ‘ hitmaker, his departure from BBNZ Live in 2016 prompted him to take a break and also put measures to enhance his brand and that the break has been a turning point for him.
Although he didn’t pinpoint the exact reason for his departure, he further disclosed that there was no ‘bad blood’ between him and his former management.
His exit raised lot of questions about the poor working relationship between the artiste and record label.
Cwesi oteng expressed his appreciation to BBNZ but according to him , he built a solid brand before joining the label and was unfair for people to think he left when he made the name.
” It is surprising how people are reading meanings into this . We had a three-year contract and both parties agreed to end the working relationship when the contract elapsed,” he said in a recent interview.
The gospel artiste stated emphatically that ” I don’t think contracts are do or die affairs that only death can separate parties involved .”
According to him moving to BBNZ was a choice he made and had no regrets for that decision but Ghanaians should know that contracts doesn’t bind an artiste till death.
Cwesi Oteng came into the limelight in 2012 where Ghanaians enjoyed hit tunes like God dey Bless Me , I win ,kabiyesi and many others from him.
He released his debut album in 2012 dubbed ‘ Mercy Project’ .
