Joselyn Dumas got in touch with her “sporty” side recently on Homerun a program on KFS. She was asked what team she supports, to which responded, Manchester United. She said it is because she was surrounded by Manchester United fans growing up. She revealed that she played volleyball too in secondary school and she also liked playing ball with her cousins, specifically the type made from socks’ put together in the shape of a football.
They also used to do high jump. They used to put sticks in holes they created just to try ‘high jump’.
She went on to say that she works out intensely once a week but during the rest of the days she uses the treadmill although she confessed she hasn’t done any training or work-out session in a while because of her current work schedule and the hours spent in traffic.
She routinely wakes up between 4:45am to 5:00am to go for long walks as a form of exercise and returns by 7:30am.
Yaw Ampofo Ankrah who was also co-hosting the show with Kokui Selormey, asked if she constantly gets mobbed by fans when she’s on her routine walks to which she responded in the affirmative stating that it has happened a couple of times with people even stopping their cars to get her attention.
Joselyn said that she has been told by about 4 to 5 doctors quite a few times that her heart can actually run a marathon. Kokui asked if she has tried the marathon yet and she replied in the negative.
She mentioned Messi as her favourite player in Europe because she likes people who dedicate their time to a course and are entertaining as well. Messi had always been an underdog because of growth hormone deficiency but he made it and that is what she likes about him.
She named Asamoah Gyan aka Baby Jet as her favourite Black Stars player giving a reason that he does not allow society to define him though he’s been subjected to very harsh criticisms. She compared herself to him saying she has tried not to let people’s comment get the better of her. She commended Asamoah Gyan for being able to keep his head above water despite all that has come his way.
On the subject of projects she has recently been part of, she said she has shot a comedy romantic movie with Chris Attoh, Nicki Samonas which she co-produced alongside an upcoming TV show. The TV show according to her “is as real as it gets” so fans should watch out; it will be on about 3 or 4 stations including Africa Magic.
She entreated that Ghana should pay more attention to sports.
