The police at Kaneshie, Accra, have apprehended a young man for allegedly luring ladies and having sex with them under the pretext of securing them jobs at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA).
Ekow Aggrey, 23, according to the police, after sleeping with the ladies, steals their valuables, including mobile phones, and escapes.
He was however, arrested after two of his victims, aged 19 and 20 years, reported the matter to the police.
Briefing DAILY GUIDE, the Kaneshie District police commander, Superintendent Francis Somian, said in December last year, Aggrey became friends with one of the victims identified as Mercy Abena Asare, 22 and unemployed, through Facebook.
In one of their chats, Aggrey told Mercy that he had a link at the Kotoka International Airport and that he could assist her get a job there.
According to Supt Somian, after promising the lady the job, the suspect then lured her to a hotel in Accra and had sexual intercourse with her, after which he stole the victim’s mobile phone and bolted.
The victim, he related, later called Aggrey several times on his phone but there was no answer.
Using Mercy’s Facebook account on his mobile phone, Aggrey impersonated as Mercy and promised three of her (Mercy’s) friends, jobs at KIA.
He then asked one of them with Facebook name Adomah Appiah, to meet him near Mr Biggs Restaurant, near the Nkrumah Interchange in Accra.
He asked the victim to bring along her Curriculum Vitae and GH¢300 for the job recruitment processes.
At the Nkrumah Interchange, Aggrey told Adomah that he was going to take the CV and the money and asked Adomah to go and buy him some water. He bolted with her bag containing an iPhone, GH¢700 and an iPad.
Adomah then went to Mercy’s house to attack her for sending someone to steal her bag and phone.
Mercy then told Adomah that somebody had stolen her phone and so the two came to the station to report the matter.
Aggrey, the police officer said, used the same modus operandi to have sex with two other friends of Mercy – identified on Facebook as Zinabu and Precious – stole their valuables and escaped.
Not satisfied, he sent a message to Valentina Amuzu, another friend of Mercy’s, but Mercy had told her friends about her stolen mobile phone and the nefarious activities of Aggrey.
On February 14, 2018, the suspect was lured by Amuzu to meet her at Abossey Okai, a suburb of Accra, and was apprehended by the police when he honoured the invitation.
Upon interrogation, Aggrey admitted the office, according to the commander.
